When are Kenyans going to wake up
I have read the proposed new constitution and I must say it gets no where close to addressing the needs of Kenyans. Well let me back up for a minute there is one thing good about the proposed constitution, that is for someone like me who resides in a different country I can be able to retain my Kenyan citizenship even if i become a citizen of a foreign nation. Well then you must think then i support the proposed constitution right? well u are wrong. The constitution is supposed to represent the interests of all Kenyans and not just one individual, that is exactly what the proposed constitution does, it addresses the needs of a few individuals. The fact that the bulk of the constitution that we employ today was put in place by the colonialist should give you pose! well if it does not, then right there is the problem that Kenya faces today, the shear ignorance of our people to take this corrupt, inept and cowardly politicians at their word. Remember that, if our leaders have not been reduced to beggars by Britain and some of this foreign nations then they are in cahout with some of these nations in exploiting our people. Please people wake up, we need drastic changes in Kenya and the best way toward obtaining that goal is by truly establishing a constitution that guarantees our sovereignty, our freedom, establishes a clear separation of the executive, legislature and judiciary bodies and also institutes checks and balances within our government. Under the present constitution the president has too much power that mostly goes unchecked.
A no vote on the present proposed constitution would be the only noble thing to do and right after it is voted out we should embark on the business of the Kenyan people and establish a real constitution.
